For two years in a row, Columbus has achieved a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index. The measurement indicates that even though Ohio is now in the minority of states that denies residents of marriage equality, the city government scores highly for inclusive and nondiscriminatory laws and practices.

Olde Towne East re-emerges as 'a cool place to be'

“I can’t think of any other area of Columbus that has gone through the ups and downs and fits and starts and has such a wide range of housing prices,” said Bill Uttley, a veteran central Ohio appraiser who owns Columbus Appraisal and Consulting.

With its proximity to Downtown and housing stock that rivals Victorian Village, Olde Towne East has been touted as the up-and-coming neighborhood for years.

Tax Breaks for Artists Could be a Reality in Ohio

A state lawmaker wants Ohio’s artists to keep a little more of their money. State Rep. Michael Stinziano, who represents Ohio’s 18^th district, plans to propose an income tax deduction on any profits artists make by selling their creations within designated “arts and entertainment districts.”
